A Night Of Musical Magic: NYO’s Camerata, Concert Band & Soloists Take Center Stage At Dubai Opera Studio!
Encore, in collaboration with the Royal Grammar School Guildford Dubai,is proud to present an extraordinary evening of music from the National Youth Orchestra (NYO) on 26th April 2025. The performance, set in the intimate setting of The Studio at Dubai Opera, promises to be a spectacular showcase of the region’s finest young musical talent.
This year marks a momentous occasion for the NYO, celebrating its seventh anniversary. Since its inception in 2018 the orchestra has grown exponentially, now counting over 200 talented members aged 5-18 from over 30 countries, all from the local UAE community. The NYO Dubai has quickly become the largest and most prestigious youth orchestra in the region, a testament to its inspiring growth and dedication to excellence in music education.
The evening will feature a captivating performance by the NYO’s Senior Strings Camerata, Concert Band, Prize-Winning Soloists, and Concerto Competition Finalists. The Camerata will be conducted by UAE-based Conductor and Composer Mr. Jonathan Barrett and acclaimed Finnish violinist and Co-Founder of NYO, Ms. Eva Gräsbeck, who also serves as Head of Strings. The NYO Concert Band will be conducted by British bassoonist Ms. Jacqueline Hayter, Head of Winds.
The performance will include a delightful mix of classical and modern music, with works by renowned composers such as Vivaldi, Mozart, and Sarasate, as well as contemporary music from the pop band Aha. This dynamic program is designed to showcase the breadth of talent within the NYO, from the passionate strings of the Camerata to the lively rhythms of the Concert Band.
Amira Fouad, Co-Founder and Artistic Director of the NYO, expressed her excitement: “We are thrilled to present our leading young musicians and Solo Concerto Finalists and Prize winners on the stage at Dubai Opera’s Studio. This performance is a celebration not only of the incredible talent within the NYO but also of a historic milestone for the orchestra. In June 2025, we will make history as the first orchestra from the UAE to receive an official invitation to perform at the world-renowned Carnegie Hall in New York City.”
This concert is sure to be a night of musical brilliance, marking the NYO’s continued growth and its commitment to providing young musicians with opportunities to perform at the highest level. With a range of musical styles and exceptional performances from young soloists, this event promises to be a highlight of the Encore Performing Arts Series.
