Himitsu – Downtown Dubai’s Hidden Bar With Over 1,200 Cocktails

Tucked discreetly inside Alba Restaurant on Dubai Boulevard, Himitsu Bar is Downtown Dubai’s best-kept secret, an intimate speakeasy that blends cutting-edge mixology with refined Japanese-inspired cuisine. True to its name, Himitsu, meaning “secret” in Japanese, the bar’s identity and location have been carefully guarded until now.

Designed by renowned interior architect Tristan Du Plessis (behind the design of Ristorante Loren and The Cullinan), the 800-square-foot space is a visual feast. With seating for just 15 guests, the bar’s interiors feature intricate floral murals and nods to traditional Japanese artistry, creating a warm, immersive backdrop for the sensory journey that awaits.

At the heart of Himitsu is its innovative cocktail program, an interactive experience that invites guests to create their own bespoke drinks using a custom-built mechanical ‘cocktail tetris’ system. With over 1,200 possible combinations, every visit becomes an opportunity to explore new flavour profiles and creative concoctions. The bar is led by Dikshant Tanwar, a rising star in the regional bar scene. At just 24, Tanwar brings both youthful energy and technical mastery to Himitsu. Under his stewardship, the bar regularly hosts global guest shifts, secret DJ-led parties, and an ever-evolving drinks program that keeps regulars coming back.
