Museum Of The Future Hosts BKRY Pop-Up This Summer, Spotlighting Culinary Innovation

This summer, Museum of the Future will host bkry, the experimental bakespace originally located at Alserkal Avenue, as it will be opening its first-ever pop-up bakery, offering guests a chance to experience the brand’s most beloved creations in a new and immersive setting. Officially opening on July 11th and running through August 31st, the pop-up will be located inside one of Dubai’s most iconic cultural landmarks, making it the perfect stop for visitors to the museum or anyone exploring Downtown Dubai.

More than just a place to enjoy fresh pastries and specialty coffee, the bkry pop-up at Museum of the Future is a window into the future of baking. Conceived as a physical extension of both Museum of the Future’s and bkry’s ethos, the space is designed to inspire and inform, bringing to life both brands’ values around sustainability, craftsmanship, innovation, and ethical sourcing. Every element, from the design inspired by stone milling to the storytelling embedded in the product display, has been crafted to spark dialogue around the future of food by highlighting responsible practices, inviting guests to reflect on what it means to eat more consciously and create more responsibly.

Through a curated series of interactive activations, the pop-up will highlight key themes that reflect the missions of both the Museum of the Future and bkry. These include, displays on regenerative agriculture and its role in reshaping the future of flour, presented by Wildfarmed; an introduction to the UAE’s pioneering local wheat program by Saba Sanabel, the first organic wheat farm in the Middle East; hands-on sessions on food upcycling and transforming organic waste by The Waste Lab; and a guided experience in ethical chocolate making led by bkry’s Co-Founder, Kameel Rasyid. Each activation is designed not only to educate but to spark meaningful conversations around the future of baking, waste, ingredients, and design.

The summer collaboration with bkry is a natural extension of the Museum of the Future’s mission to explore how innovation and imagination can shape a better tomorrow. As a brand rooted in experimentation, sustainability, and ingredient-driven storytelling, bkry reflects the very ethos of the museum, pushing boundaries, questioning convention, and inviting visitors to engage all five senses in the process. Through this collaboration, the museum brings its future-focused vision into the realm of food, offering guests a bakery experience that reimagines what dining, sourcing and craft can look like in a more conscious and creative future.

“Our programming is rooted in the idea that every discipline, whether science, design or food, can offer insight into where we’re headed. We’re always looking to collaborate with voices that bring both depth and a fresh perspective to the table. bkry’s work reflects that. This pop-up opens up new ways to think about the future of food, not just what we eat, but how it connects to broader values. We’re glad to have them as part of our evolving story,” said Maitha Al Mazroei, Head of Programming.

“It’s a true honour to partner with the Museum of the Future, an institution that represents everything we admire: innovation, purpose, and a deep curiosity about what’s possible. At bkry, we’ve always believed that food can be a powerful tool for storytelling and change. This collaboration allows us to bring our values to life in a new way—by sharing not just our products, but the ideas, relationships, and responsible practices behind them. We’re excited to be part of a space that inspires forward-thinking across every field, including food.” shared Kameel Rasyid, Co-Founder of bkry.

Visitors to the bakery can also indulge in a menu that reflects bkry’s signature approach: inventive, ingredient-driven, and made fresh daily. The pop-up menu will include a selection of bkry’s most loved menu items including pastries, varieties of sourdough bread, all-day breakfast, salads, mains, and desserts alongside a range of signature drinks and in-house treats. In addition, a new selection of spreads and desserts will be launched exclusively at the museum. Highlights include milk chocolate spreads made with Tanzanian, Ecuadorian, and Haitian cocoa, as well as bon bons in inventive flavours such as Lemon Caramel & Roasted Sesame, Spiced Tea, and Croissant White Chocolate. Every item on the menu reflects the same values of quality, curiosity, and craft that have made bkry a standout in the UAE’s food scene.

As bkry marks its first year since opening and enters a new phase of growth, this pop-up is both a celebration of what the brand has achieved and a bold expression of where it’s headed next. The pop-up will be open daily from 9:00am to 9:00pm on the 7th floor of Museum of the Future.
