Something Is Brewing At Costa

Across the UAE, matcha lovers are discovering what may be  the most unique twist on the matcha craze to date. Customers  have uncovered a secret off the menu drink at Costa Coffee unlocked through  a mystery code whispered at Costa drive-thrus and stores before receiving a customised Matcha order.

Designed around the idea that there’s no “right” way to enjoy matcha,Costa’s latest range reflects the growing diversity of matcha rituals across the UAE. Whether you’re a mum on a school run or looking for a post-padel match refresher, there are countless ways to enjoy matcha, so why not enjoy it with something unexpected…like a spot of tea too?

The question is, how do you get your hands on it?

UAE creators embrace the unexpected pairing

While the Earl Grey Matcha Cloud isn’t sitting front and centre on the menu, those in the know have already started making it part of their regular order. If you want to join the conversation, the only thing standing between you and your next matcha fixation is knowing the right words to say: “Earl and Jade.”

The code “Earl and Jade” has already been circulating across Costa stores and drive-thrus around the Emirates, where early adopters are quietly making it their go-to matcha twist.

We’ve spotted it across several UAE-based lifestyle creators, including Aimee-Leigh Spencer (@aimeeleighs), Charmy Vora (@charmy_vora), and Luna Al Mallah (@lunaalmallah), testing the hack themselves. Audiences are flooding the comments trying to weigh in on the hottest debate, which is brewing this June; it’s one of those ‘don’t knock it till you try it’ moments.

The secret menu moment meets a wider iced matcha drop
Coinciding with the launch of the secret menu hack is the launch of Costa Coffee UAE’s new iced matcha range, with Iced Strawberry Coconut Matcha and Iced Matcha Spanish Latte now joining Classic Matcha on the menu. At the heart of the range is premium Japanese matcha, sourced from a 300-year-old farm and blended in New Zealand by Bon Accord, bringing together heritage, quality, and modern flavour innovation in every cup.

“Consumers are becoming more experimental with how they enjoy matcha,” said Louise Bray, Head of Marketing – EMENA Retail at Costa Coffee. “With this new range, we wanted to do something unexpected and give people something to talk about. Why not combine two Costa favourites into one? We’re in one of the fastest-moving cities in the world, after all, so maybe we all need that extra buzz.”

Because discovering new favourites is always better with perks, Costa Club is also giving members a chance to earn 10 beans for every AED 1 spent, with 2,000 beans redeemable for a free drink. New members will also receive 2,000 beans on their first purchase, offering an added incentive to explore the collection.
