Dubai’s Design Dome Hosts Open Mic Night Inspired By Central Asian Culture

An evening of music inspired by the spirit of Central Asia is set to unfold at Design Dome in City Walk, Dubai, as musician and Design Dome co-founder Ravi Tilani hosts an Open Mic Night where every voice is welcome. A guitarist with more than 14 years of experience in music theory and performance, Ravi hopes to recreate the warmth and musical traditions he grew up with in Kazakhstan while celebrating Dubai’s multicultural identity.

“Kazakhstan is a country rich in arts and music, where traditions are preserved, and stories are constantly reimagined for the present. I aspire to recreate that musical spirit in Dubai,” says Ravi Tilani, who was born and raised in Kazakhstan.

While open mic nights have long been part of Dubai’s cultural landscape, this edition aims to bring together voices from the Silk Route and beyond. The evening may begin with an original song in Kazakh, move into a cover in Uzbek, and end with performances in English, Arabic, or any language participants choose to share.

Home to more than 200 nationalities, Dubai continues to demonstrate how cultures not only coexist but also create, collaborate, and celebrate together.

Guests can enjoy live performances alongside Turkish coffee, hibiscus tea, and treats inspired by Kazakhstan’s culinary heritage. Whether bringing along an unfinished song, a rusty guitar, or simply an appreciation for live music, everyone is invited to be part of the evening.
