Slava’s Snowshow Returns To Dubai After A Near SellOut Season At Dubai Opera

The theatrical poetic sceptical makes its highly anticipated return to Dubai. Following a near sell out run at Dubai Opera in 2023, the internationally acclaimed Slava’s Snowshow returns for a strictly limited season at the New Covent Garden Theatre, Mall of the Emirates, from 14 to 26 October 2025. Weekday shows begin at 7:30 PM, with additional weekend matinees and evening performances, giving families, schools and theatre lovers plenty of options to plan the perfect visit.

This is no ordinary comeback. Slava’s Snowshow is a global phenomenon that has toured more than 80 countries, played to more than 12 million people, and collected more than 25 international awards, including the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Entertainment and the Drama Desk Award in New York. For three decades it has been praised by critics as pure theatre and a thing of rare theatrical beauty, and it continues to captivate millions worldwide with its dreamlike charm.

Created by Russian performance artist Slava Polunin, the show is wordless yet eloquent. It unfolds as a sequence of dreamlike images, shaped by music, movement and immaculate timing. Rather than explaining itself, the performance trusts the audience to feel their way through it. A single red balloon drifts across the stage and becomes a small beacon of hope. A gossamer web unfurls over the stalls and seems to catch the air itself. Soap bubbles float and linger as if the room has decided to hold its breath. Giant balls bounce through the crowd and the theatre turns playful. The famous snowstorm finale arrives as a blizzard of paper snow that sweeps across the auditorium and dissolves the boundary between stage and audience. For a few minutes, hundreds of people laugh, gasp and look up together, and the moment belongs to everyone.

That sense of participation is central to the appeal of Slava’s Snowshow. It is immersive without the need for headsets or screens. The craft is in the precision of the performers and the design, but the effect feels effortless and generous. Children recognise the mischief and the clear invitations to play. Teenagers sense the melancholy and courage that sit quietly under the comedy. Adults find a tenderness that is hard to name yet easy to remember once it is felt. Grandparents recognise the way memory softens time. The result is a performance where different ages and backgrounds meet in the same emotional space.

The much-anticipated Dubai return brings the production to a venue designed for connection and clarity. The New Covent Garden Theatre is a 575-seat space created for world class live entertainment, intimate enough to feel every glance and wide enough to let the snow gather and swirl. The scale suits the show’s language of image and rhythm and it keeps the audience close to the action while giving the stage pictures room to breathe.

For a city that thrives on big experiences, Slava’s Snowshow is unlike anything you’ve ever seen. It asks for attention rather than explanation, stillness rather than noise, and it rewards that attention with moments that linger long after the curtain falls. The images are simple to describe yet difficult to forget. The feeling is even harder to capture in words, which is why audiences return and bring friends with them. It is not just a performance. It is a sensory experience that becomes a shared memory.

The season runs from 14 to 26 October 2025 at New Covent Garden Theatre, with weekday performances at 7:30 PM and additional matinees and evening shows on the weekend. Performance times are Tuesday to Thursday at 7:30 PM, Friday and Saturday at 4 PM and 8 PM, and Sunday at 2 PM and 6 PM.
