Zed Accelerates Expansion, Now Hosts Over 80% Of Dubai’s Taxis
Zed, Dubai’s homegrown ride-hailing app, has partnered with Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) and National Taxi (NT) to expand its fleet to 10,764 vehicles. The collaboration positions Zed as the host of Dubai’s second-largest taxi fleet and represents a major milestone in strengthening the city’s mobility ecosystem. Moreover, with this addition, Zed now hosts the fleets of Dubai’s top 3 taxi companies on its platform (including Kabi by Al Ghurair), accounting for more than 80% of all taxis in the Emirate.
By partnering with two of Dubai’s most trusted taxi providers, Zed is combining local innovation with proven infrastructure to deliver real solutions that target Dubai’s unique transport challenges. Consequently, this will produce faster estimated times of arrivals (ETAs), fewer cancellations, and greater availability, even in underserved areas. With its expanded fleet, Zed is strengthening its role as a major local player in the UAE’s ride-hailing scene, aiming to broaden its customer reach, provide more effective service and empower taxi drivers to turn daily rides into experiences of warmth, reliability, and trust.
Strengthening Dubai’s Mobility Ecosystem
“With over 25 years of experience in the mobility sector through our legacy business, Zed and Kabiby Al Ghurair have a deep understanding of Dubai’s commuting behaviours and cultural expectations,” said Badr Al Ghurair, CEO of Zed. “This collaboration with DTC and National Taxi further strengthens Dubai’s mobility ecosystem while ensuring that our communities have access to the reliable, everyday transport solutions they deserve.”
The partnership ensures that DTC and National Taxi’s professional drivers, who already serve millions of passengers annually, are now accessible through Zed’s intuitive, ride-hailing mobile application, providing added convenience and choice to everyday commuters.
Tech-Led and Future-Ready
Designed as a technology-driven platform, Zedalso provides riders with complete reassurance through its latest 100% guarantee on punctual pickups for pre-scheduled premium rides. Looking ahead, Zed is preparing further innovations, including loyalty rewards, digital wallets, and lifestyle partnerships, all aimed at enhancing convenience and value for riders.
“We believe mobility should serve the city, not the other way around,” said Abhinav Patwa, Executive Vice President and Head of Zed. “Partnering with Dubai’s most established taxi fleets enables us to deliver scale and reliability at a whole new level, while staying true to a customer-centric and community-first approach, increasing opportunities for drivers and supporting them with genuine care.
Supporting Dubai’s Smart City Vision
Zed’s expansion even supports Dubai’s Smart City 2025 goal, set by the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), of shifting 80% of taxi bookings to e-hailing platforms. Through its app-only model and the integration of electric and hybrid taxis from its recent partnership with DTC and National Taxi,Zed is contributing to a cleaner, more efficient mobility ecosystem.
“We’re building a transport platform that aligns with the emirate’s vision” added Patwa. “As Dubai shapes the blueprint for future-ready mobility, Zed is proud to be part of that journey, helping drive progress one ride at a time.”
Zed is available for download on iOS and Android, offering Dubai residents a smarter, faster, and more reliable way to commute.
